Control cables are important components of a vehicle, as they provide power, control, signal and data communication for all of a vehicles systems and equipment including safety systems such as ABS.They are used as extension cable.

Mechanical Control cables are flexible cables used to transmit mechanical force by the movement of an inner cable. They form a very vital component of the vehicle as they perform a very important task of controlling various functions in the vehicle, which are usually recurring. The use of a good quality cable is desirable to prevent customer headaches on re-replacement, reinstallation and cable failure due to fatigue. Twisting of desired/required number of strands of standard wire gauge of different diameter into one cable, amongst other things, makes for a good quality cable. The numbers of strands of standard gauge depends upon the end use of the auto control cables like brake wire, clutch wire, accelerator wire etc. Each type of cable is of different size depending upon the specific purpose of the cable.

Following are the types of cables:

  • Clutch Cables: Clutch cables operate the clutch from the clutch pedal.
  • Accelerator Cables: This control cable allows the driver to regulate the amount of power he produces when he presses the accelerator pedal.
  • Speedometer cables: For depicting the speed of the vehicle.
  • Brake Cables: Brake cables in cars, the parking brake (also called hand brake an emergency brake) is a latching brake usually used to keep the vehicle stationary.
  • Push/ Pull cables: Gear shifting cables which are now used more commonly over linkages in Vehicle transmissions.
  • Release Cables such as bonnet, fuel tank, boot opening cables etc.
  • Other cables as per special customer specific requirements
